Your adoption supports expert animal care, conservation breeding programs, habitat protection, research and education—at Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Safari Park and through our conservation partners in the wild.

Przewalski's Horse

Once extinct in the wild, the Przewalski’s Horse has made a remarkable comeback thanks to global conservation efforts.

Asian Elephant

The largest land mammal in Asia! They are highly intelligent, gentle and social animals.

Giant Panda

Xing Qiu and Yi Lan are part of a vital research and conservation program.

Red Panda

Red pandas are skilled climbers and use their long tails for balance and warmth, often napping in the branches.

Sumatran Tiger

The Sumatran Tigers Delilah and Kembali and their 3 cubs can’t get enough of relaxing, eating and playing.

Ring-tailed Lemur

Lemurs are the oldest species of primate, but sadly they are also the most endangered.

Chimpanzee

The chimp troop have big personalities and are helping keep this endangered species swinging.

Giraffe

As the most successful giraffe breeding institution in Australasia, Monarto Safari Park has helped keep giraffes standing tall.

Cheetah

The beautiful cheetah play an important role in breeding for this vulnerable species.

Tasmanian Devil

The Tasmanian devils are helping build an insurance population in the fight against cancer among Tassie devils.

White Cheeked Gibbon

The wonderful and growing gibbon family love swinging and singing.

African Lion

With amazing breeding success, Monarto Safari Park is home to one of the largest lion prides in Australia.

Pygmy Hippopotamus

Obi the Pygmy Hippo is a cheeky boy who has won the hearts of zoo visitors and staff alike!

Nile Hippo

Brindella and Pansy are the newest residents to Monarto Safari Park's 'Wild Africa' precinct.

Greater Bilby

Bilbies have had amazing breeding success for re-introduction to the wild.

Meerkat

The inquisitive meerkat mob love exploring, playing and keeping a watchful eye on passers by.

Southern white Rhinoceros

The Rhinos love their keepers and are part of a breeding program helping build the region’s insurance population.

Sumatran Orangutan

The Sumatran Orangutans are all full of personality and intelligence, never ceasing to amaze.

Orange Bellied Parrot

One of the world’s rarest birds, these tiny, bright parrots migrate each year between Tasmania and mainland Australia.

Red Tailed Black Cockatoo

These inquisitive birds love exploring and are ambassadors for important conservation work happening in the field.

Asian Small-clawed Otter

The Asian Small-clawed Otter is the smallest species of otter in the world.

Komodo Dragon

The Komodo dragon is the largest extant species of lizard with ancestors that date back more than 100 million years.

Western Swamp Tortoise

Western Swamp Tortoises are amazing little animals and one of the oldest reptiles on the planet.

Capybara

The Capybara is the world's largest rodent! They’re closely related to guinea pigs and have excellent aquatic skills.
